Welcome to my blog of my own Pursuit of Happiness except this one is real life and not a movie (not yet). When we were 17yo, we had always wished we could graduate and make our own money. The good news is, your wish came true. The bad news is, it’s not as you expected it and now you wish you are 17yo again. Isn’t it ironic? I realized that I will be working until I’m 65yo (damn!!). After retirement, we still need to pay bills – food, utilities, medicine. You can’t live without money, you can’t die without money because you still need to pay the funeral costs.
Why You Keep Reading?
Because you realized the same scenario in your life and it’s scary though. Hey! I’m not trying to scare you at all. Age is a gift, an opportunity to make things better. I’m not an expert in happiness either. I am just like you, or at least I was – I dreamed of the same dreams you have and I’m confused as hell how to deal with future planning.
As a 29 years old working adult, I am feeling the pressures of turning 30. I was that 17yo teen whose wishes came true but things didn’t turn out as I expected. I am from a middle-class family and IT consultant, a UX designer to be precise. Being in this profession for more than 8 years had taken so much of my time that I didn’t have time to focus on what really matters in life – health, financial planning, and doing what I love. Our work demands so much of our time and I’m sure you can all relate to this. I did not have the right people to guide me on how to plan my future and be financially free to do what I love.
What do I love?
I love to travel and explore the culture, religion, photographing, cooking & mainly eat a lot of food. I am an atheist and I am loyal to all and I believe in people rather than religion or caste. My dream is to travel the world and not worry about retirement. I want to experience the world.
